Unmarried Sister Spite

My sister continues to spite Elizabeth. She refuses to face an unpleasant truth: Darcy will only ever love Elizabeth, and not her. Even so, my friend has told me, her tactics do not seem to have a lasting effect on Darcy. He told me what he told my sister, saying Miss Elizabeth is “one of the handsomest women” of his acquaintance. I imagine my unmarried sister did not take this comment well, and even though I want love for her, I do not wish for her to destroy the love of others.

My Sisters at Pemberley

My sisters have informed me of the recent events at Pemberley with Elizabeth, Darcy, and Mrs. Gardiner. They were both there when Darcy arrived. I imagine this brought an awkward silence among the group. My unmarried sister seems to continue her spite toward Elizabeth, and she told me (laughing) that the militia departure was a “great loss” for the Bennet family. I have tried to teach her to love, instead of hate, but she refuses to listen. My apologies go out to Miss Elizabeth.

Derbyshire Countryside

I have received knowledge that Elizabeth has gone with the Gardiners on a tour to the Derbyshire countryside. Along the way, they traveled close to the manor of my dear friend. Fortunately for Elizabeth and unfortunately for Mr. Darcy, Mr. Darcy is not there to see them. I so wish we could travel back in time and change our relationships with the Bennet daughters. I miss Jane and I think of her always. I only hope that things will have a way of working out – but I need the help of fate, indeed.

Wickham/Elizabeth Encounter

Again, I was not personally there to witness the event, but I have heard of Elizabeth’s encounter with Wickham. She avoided mentioning anything regarding her newly acquired information on the man. Although they do speak of my dear friend, they do so briefly and restrictedly . . . .  This event not so hard to learn about, the soldiers have left for Brighton, and Kitty is envious of her sister – whom is allowed to follow the men. Trouble is inevitable for young Lydia – lets hope she makes it out of town first.

Secrets Revealed

I have heard, yes, of my lovely Jane; however, it is not in the usual uplifting sense. She is now aware of whom Wickham truly is, and was apparently debating to expose the man. I imagine Mrs. Bennet is still lecturing her about her loss of me in marriage. I should not have put her in this position, as it is my doing that has caused her misery, not her own. I have also heard that Lydia is to spend the summer in Brighton – even with the company of Colonel Forster, I imagine she will create some mischief.

Bennet’s Return

Though I was not personally at the past dinner between the Bennets and Lucas Family, I have heard a great deal about the event. Apparently Lydia could not keep her mouth shut long enough even to chew her food politely. That young girl worries me. She is constantly ranting on about officers and soldiers and such, it will be a miracle if she does not indeed end up with one. Some tension between Wickham and Elizabeth remains – I imagine – as she refuses the offered trip by Lydia to avoid seeing the man.

Missing Jane

I have so missed dear Jane these past few days especially. I have been notified of her return home and all I seem to see anymore is her smiling face. I looked in the sky and the clouds teased me – forming her silhouette in some sections of the sky, and her lovely face in others. I am glad too that she is not like her soldier-infatuated sister. Speaking of, Lydia has announced the leaving of Miss King to Liverpool and an opening in Wickham’s heart.
