Unmarried Sister Spite

My sister continues to spite Elizabeth. She refuses to face an unpleasant truth: Darcy will only ever love Elizabeth, and not her. Even so, my friend has told me, her tactics do not seem to have a lasting effect on Darcy. He told me what he told my sister, saying Miss Elizabeth is “one of the handsomest women” of his acquaintance. I imagine my unmarried sister did not take this comment well, and even though I want love for her, I do not wish for her to destroy the love of others.

My Sisters at Pemberley

My sisters have informed me of the recent events at Pemberley with Elizabeth, Darcy, and Mrs. Gardiner. They were both there when Darcy arrived. I imagine this brought an awkward silence among the group. My unmarried sister seems to continue her spite toward Elizabeth, and she told me (laughing) that the militia departure was a “great loss” for the Bennet family. I have tried to teach her to love, instead of hate, but she refuses to listen. My apologies go out to Miss Elizabeth.

Derbyshire Countryside

I have received knowledge that Elizabeth has gone with the Gardiners on a tour to the Derbyshire countryside. Along the way, they traveled close to the manor of my dear friend. Fortunately for Elizabeth and unfortunately for Mr. Darcy, Mr. Darcy is not there to see them. I so wish we could travel back in time and change our relationships with the Bennet daughters. I miss Jane and I think of her always. I only hope that things will have a way of working out – but I need the help of fate, indeed.

Wickham/Elizabeth Encounter

Again, I was not personally there to witness the event, but I have heard of Elizabeth’s encounter with Wickham. She avoided mentioning anything regarding her newly acquired information on the man. Although they do speak of my dear friend, they do so briefly and restrictedly . . . .  This event not so hard to learn about, the soldiers have left for Brighton, and Kitty is envious of her sister – whom is allowed to follow the men. Trouble is inevitable for young Lydia – lets hope she makes it out of town first.

Secrets Revealed

I have heard, yes, of my lovely Jane; however, it is not in the usual uplifting sense. She is now aware of whom Wickham truly is, and was apparently debating to expose the man. I imagine Mrs. Bennet is still lecturing her about her loss of me in marriage. I should not have put her in this position, as it is my doing that has caused her misery, not her own. I have also heard that Lydia is to spend the summer in Brighton – even with the company of Colonel Forster, I imagine she will create some mischief.

Bennet’s Return

Though I was not personally at the past dinner between the Bennets and Lucas Family, I have heard a great deal about the event. Apparently Lydia could not keep her mouth shut long enough even to chew her food politely. That young girl worries me. She is constantly ranting on about officers and soldiers and such, it will be a miracle if she does not indeed end up with one. Some tension between Wickham and Elizabeth remains – I imagine – as she refuses the offered trip by Lydia to avoid seeing the man.

Missing Jane

I have so missed dear Jane these past few days especially. I have been notified of her return home and all I seem to see anymore is her smiling face. I looked in the sky and the clouds teased me – forming her silhouette in some sections of the sky, and her lovely face in others. I am glad too that she is not like her soldier-infatuated sister. Speaking of, Lydia has announced the leaving of Miss King to Liverpool and an opening in Wickham’s heart.  

Collins and Charlotte

I have heard many exciting things recently regarding my dear friend Mr. Darcy as well as the new marriage involving Collins and Charlotte. I have also been informed of an encounter between Elizabeth and Mr. Collins. I know little about Charlotte and her relationship with Mr. Collins; however, I do not think it is love that has brought them together. Apparently Collins preaches how they were meant to be together – which cannot seem further from reality. Again, I try my best to avoid such drama, so I remain neutral on the topic. 

Darcy's Irony

It so pains me to realize that after Darcy has advised me not to marry into the Bennet family, he has attempted to do so himself. However, it brings light to my very eyes to see him accept the power of love and its affect on two people. It is now that I can return to Jane and nurse our wounded relationship back to health. The wealth and behavior of morals may be a harmful factor in the Bennet family, but it should be made clear that there are exceptions to these actions. Jane and Elizabeth Bennet are not their mother.. or their other sisters.

Who is Mrs. Gardiner?

I have not yet been so lucky as to have met Mrs. Gardiner, whom I have only heard positive things about. It is my understanding that she seems to be the voice of reason among us. She is motherly and smart, and although I have not made her acquaintance, I can already trust her opinion. As a close friend of Mr. Darcy, I am aware of the truth behind Wickham, and support Mrs. Gardiner's input to Elizabeth. Elizabeth should know that looking at an apple from more than one angle can lead to the discovery of a worm hole.

The Proposal of a Dearest Friend

Today I was given word that Darcy has declared his love for Elizabeth through a proposal that was immediately shattered by Elizabeth herself. Just recently, Darcy has advised me to remove my love for Jane due to insuperable conditions of her family with the exception of this woman. It is now that I understand why, but also a shock to me that he would do the very thing he advised me not to. It is also now that I know he understands the power love can have on someone... on two people.

A Little Bird

Friends, it has been brought to my attention by the eloquent, fluttering wings of a little bird that Colonel Fitzwilliam has so taken an interest in Elizabeth Bennet. The thought of love, in any scenario truly warms my body and I think of Jane. I would so have liked Jane to have been invited to such a dinner, as in truth, it pains me to be apart from Jane. I so miss her smile, and wonderful, wavy locks. Love is a wonderful thing, it can warm the soul and strengthen the mind. Today my soul needs a blanket, and my mind a workout.
